What your journey entails
Ready to begin your 3D print orthotics journey? We have broken it down into four simple steps on what to expect at every stage.
1. Find a treatment or clinic
The first step in your journey is finding the right treatment or clinic by speaking to a clinician. Our clinicians are located all over the UK and are ready to help you.
Alternatively, if you have got someone in mind or the clinician does not supply 3D Ortho products, we can contact them on your behalf.
2. Consultation
Once you have selected a clinician, you will have a consultation either remotely or in a clinic. There, you will be able to discuss your condition in more detail, and you will decide together what the best treatment will be for you.
3. The process
Scanning
The concept Invent Medical has created is to make the whole orthotic process as short as possible. Within minutes, clinicians directly scan patients, a cast, or a plaster model on a sub-millimetre level with a 99.7% printing accuracy.
Customisation
It is time to choose how your orthosis will look. Using a configurator app, your clinician creates, modifies and aligns it to be 100% custom to your taste and lifestyle.
Printing
The orthosis is then sent off to be made. The printing process takes around 24 hours and is then cooled for the same length of time. Once cool, excess powder is removed, and is then dyed or painted to how you want it.
Delivery
With less manual input needed to manufacture the orthosis, the turnaround time for modelling, printing and finishing is quicker than traditional methods, which means it is guaranteed to arrive within two weeks.
Fit
Because of the process being automatic, there is less assembly needed, which means the orthosis will arrive fitting the patient perfectly, with less need for adjustments
Aftercare
Aftercare differs depending on the product, but a lot of our products require simply wiping with a damp cloth.
